Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on the injury status of David Alaba and Vinicius Junior ahead of their La Liga match against Girona this Saturday.
Both Alaba and Vinicius are recovering from injuries that have kept them sidelined, and they missed Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Athletic Club last Wednesday in La Liga.
However, both players have returned to training ahead of this weekend’s clash with Girona and the upcoming Champions League match against Atalanta on Tuesday.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Ancelotti shared the latest news regarding the two injured players.
The Italian coach stated: “David Alaba is coming back, but it will take about a month for him to reach peak form and return to full fitness. He will be ready by January because he needs extra care during his recovery.”
As for Vinicius Jr., Ancelotti confirmed: “Vinicius will be available for the Atalanta match on Tuesday. He is in better condition now than before.”
Real Madrid’s season has been significantly impacted by a series of injuries, which have disrupted their title ambitions and affected their overall performance.
